The Snyder Cut movement just declared war… on easy listening.
A four-minute rap song titled “The Time Has Come #ReleaseTheSnyderCut” has gone online on YouTube, a clip made by fans clamoring to see Zack Snyder’s original cut of “Justice League”.
Re-Release News reports that the song itself has some interesting lyrics from calling Marvel movie fans sheep and having horrible taste, to images and words disparaging Warner Bros. Pictures and Walt Disney Studios.
The lyricists also dub Snyder an “old master” whose shot compositions are right out of Renaissance paintings. More concerning is the chorus segments which suggest acts of civil disobedience as a means to an end.
The video also ends with a title card reading ‘In Memory of Autumn Snyder,’ referring to Zack’s daughter who died tragically in 2017 due to suicide.
Despite the organised campaign which has included paid billboards and skywriting, there’s been no real indication the “ReleaseTheSnyderCut” movement gained any traction within Warners itself.
