Bong Joon-ho’s much anticipated sci-fi train-set tale “Snowpiercer” has finally scored a release date. South Korea will be the first in the world to get the film on August 1st.
This means The Weinstein Company could give the film an early Fall film festival run ahead of a domestic release near the end of the year.
Meanwhile, the Ashton Kutcher-led Steve Jobs biopic has finally settled on an August 16th domestic release. The film will open wide on that date via distributor Open Road Films.
Open Road has also announced an October 4th release for Gary Fleder’s action thriller “Homefront” starring Jason Statham and penned by Sylvester Stallone.
Finally, Relativity Media has taken U.S. rights to Carlo Carlei’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”. Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Booth play the young lovers in the film which will get a September 6th limited release.
