SNL Hits Ratings Highs With Chappelle

“Saturday Night Live” pulled a well-timed coup with Dave Chappelle hosting the first post-presidential election episode. As a result, the series pulled in its highest numbers for the season – scoring a a 6.2 Live + Same day household rating and a 3.9 in 18-49s, the latter the show’s highest since 2013.

The episode has also been the talk of social media mostly related to four sketches staring with the somber cold open with Kate McKinnon as Hilary Clinton paying tribute to Leonard Cohen.

Then came Chappelle’s ten-minute monologue, an election night satire which had Chris Rock guest starring, and a spoof of the already iconic “The Walking Dead” Negan S6 finale/S7 premiere scene – this time though the potential victims were all old characters from the “Chappelle Show”.
