Snipes Says Marvel “Blade” Talks Ongoing

Wesley Snipes has once again teased the possibility of returning to the role of Blade as part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Asked about his return as the iconic vampire hunter, Snipes tells The Huffington Post that he’s “still in shape enough and fit enough to handle the role.” Whether it could happen though he seems less sure:

“There’s always a possibility, you know. It’s in Marvel’s hands. They’re controlling the pace and the flow with that. Conversations have been good. They see the value in it. We see the value in it.”

Asked about the possibility of him being added to Marvel’s Avengers line-up, he says:

“That would be interesting. I mean, I know it’s in the comic book. It would be interesting to see where they would place him and where he really would fit in. He’s got to bite somebody. I don’t know who he’s going to bite… We’ll see how it goes. I don’t really know what’s going to happen to it yet.”

The “Blade” comics are getting a high-profile relaunch this Fall with the story set to focus on Blade’s previously unknown teenage daughter.
