Sony Pictures is planning to continue the “Men in Black” franchise with word today from producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald that plans are underway for what sounds like a reboot.
Speaking with THR this week, the pair were asked if talks were underway about reviving that franchise with the new Sony regime. Parkes responded “We’re in the middle of it. It’s very active.”
Asked if Will Smith going to be part of it, Parkes said: “Most likely no” and MacDonald following up that “it will be reinvented as a trilogy.”
The pair have produced all three of the previous MIB films. Smith himself has shown little interest in returning, saying in 2013 that “Three of anything is enough for me.”
