The first renewal of the new Fall TV season has been announced with Fox’s supernatural hit “Sleepy Hollow” scoring an official second season order of another thirteen episodes.
Fox’s most successful fall drama premiere since “24” debuted back in 2001, the series premiere earned a 5.0/13 rating among Adults 18-49 and drew 13.6 million viewers after three additional days of time-shifted viewing. Combined with encore viewing, DVR, VOD and streaming figures, it’s estimated more than 22 million have seen the pilot.
More importantly the show has held fairly steady with the recent third episode coming in at a 3.0/8 rating – down just 3% on the second episode.
What’s a little odd here is that this an official second season renewal, NOT a full season ‘back-9’ order as is usual with network shows.
Fox signed onto the series with the understanding that it would be a cable-style short-order of 13 episodes per season per year. The second season will air during the 2014-15 season.
