Slave Scribe Plans ABC Marvel Series

Following their collaboration on the well-reviewed midseason drama “American Crime,” Oscar-winning “12 Years a Slave” writer/producer John Ridley and ABC are re-teaming for a new Marvel TV series for the network.

EW reports that the project will be a reinvention of an existing Marvel superhero character or property, but all other details are being kept under wraps.

The Ridley project would mark Marvel’s second property in development for ABC alongside a recently announced “Agents of SHIELD” spinoff. ‘SHIELD’ itself is looking likely to get a third season, but the fate of midseason bridge show “Agent Carter” remains unknown for now.
