Along with a potential “Call of Duty” cinematic universe, Activision Blizzard revealed on Friday that the first project in the works at their newly formed Activision Blizzard Studios is a TV series based on the “Skylanders” video game series.
The game series dealt with magic and floating islands and was a pioneer in the toys-to-life category that Disney Infinity and Lego Dimensions have become juggernauts in.
In fact the series is already in production and will feature a voice cast that includes Justin Long as Spyro, Ashley Tisdale as Stealth Elf, Jonathan Banks as Eruptor and Norm Macdonald as Glumshanks.
“Futurama” writer Eric Rogers serves as showrunner. “Skylanders” is a $3 billion franchise that has sold more than 250 million figures since 2011 according to Activision.
