Fifty-one-year-old cameraman Chan Kwok-hung has drowned in an accident whilst working on the latest Jackie Chan-led action thriller “Skiptrace” according to local reports.
Chan Kwok-hung died after a vessel carrying him and his film crew capsized off Lantau Island this morning says China Morning Post.
Hong Kong police said the vessel capsized 30 meters (100ft) from the shore, with seven crew members able to swim back to the shore after the accident. Chan Kwok-hung did not make it and was found unconscious and later declared dead.
Jackie Chan was not believed to be on board the vessel. Police are said to be investigating and interviewing the seven survivors.
Renny Harlin is helming the U.S.-China co-production which stars Chan as a Hong Kong detective who teams up with a mouthy American gambler (Johnny Knoxville) to save his niece and take down the city’s most notorious criminal. Fan Binbing also stars.
