Lizzy Caplan (“Now You See Me 2”), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (“10 Cloverfield Lane”), Sienna Miller (“American Sniper”), Sofia Boutella (“Star Trek Beyond”), Stephanie Sigman (“Spectre”), and Sylvia Hoeks (“Blade Runner 2049”) have all reportedly made the shortlist of actresses who will screen test for the upcoming “Deadpool” sequel reports Collider.
Specifically all are up for the character of Domino. The project is still in development but is moving fast and director Tim Miller and the film’s producers are now looking towards casting this key female role with some of the six having already tested.
In the comics, Domino is a mercenary and a mutant, and her powers include the ability to initiate random telekinetic acts that turn probability in her favor. She also has a close connection to the mutant Cable, as her comics history found her becoming his partner, confidante, and lover.
It was previously confirmed during the post-credits sequence for “Deadpool” that Cable will appear in the sequel. No word as yet on whom might play him. The R-rated superhero movie “Deadpool” demolish all expectations with a massive $132 million opening weekend and eventual $782.6 million worldwide gross. Shooting on the sequel gets underway early next year.
The news comes as the marketing campaign for the first has released a reel about its nomination for a Clio Key Art award for its marketing campaign. Ryan Reynolds reprises his role for the clip which you can see below.
