Singleton Talks A-Team Progress

Collider got to briefly chat with director John Singleton about 20th Century Fox’s upcoming big screen adaptation of classic 80’s series “The A-Team” which he confirmed he’s helming. Amongst the facts garnered:

-NO-ONE has been cast yet, but he wants Woody Harrelson to play Murdock.

– B.A. Baracus gets the Mohawk during the film due to a scene where he basically goes crazy.

– The movie is not a farce like Starsky and Hutch, rather like an 80’s action movie ala “Commando,” “Lethal Weapon,” etc.

– Whoever does sign on for the film will have to do multiple sequels should it be a hit.

– The script is done with Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, the writers behind “3:10 to Yuma”, doing the latest draft.

– No budget has yet been set, but production aims to begin in the next few months meaning a likely Summer 2009 release.
