With “Wolverine” coming to an end, cast contracts up with “X-Men: Apocalypse” and the “Gambit” movie stalling, the fate of the “X-Men” franchise over the next few years is going to be interesting to say the least.
One of the few related projects that’s properly moving forward if FX’s “Legion” series starring starring Dan Stevens as David Haller, the son of Charles Xavier. On top of that FOX is working on its own “X-Men” series.
Speaking at the Edinburgh Television Festival this week, Singer says both shows “will relate to future X-Men movies” and yet “Legion” can still be somewhat separate: “[it is] a part of the X-Men universe, but when you watched it, you wouldn’t have to label it, it could exist completely on its own.”
He does add “Legion” will have a “really ambitious and fun and very unique storyline”. It is currently slated to debut on FX in 2017.
