Yesterday with the final trailer for Bryan Singer’s “X-Men: Apocalypse” came a tease of Hugh Jackman’s appearance as Wolverine in the film, albeit only a glimpse of his claws. So why was only that scene shown? Singer spoke with Empire about the reveal and says it was a deliberate choice:
“Make of that what you want. I will say, it’s not simple. There’s something more pivotal that occurs with that. It hints to a sequence that again fits within the canon of all six movies, and the birth of a new direction. It’s not insignificant, nor is it simply just a throw-in… It’s not the only shot you’re gonna see, let’s put it that way.”
Following his short appearance in ‘Apocalypse,’ Jackman will don the suit one last time as Wolverine in the third standalone film about his character. “X-Men: Apocalypse” is currently targeting a May 27th 2016 release.
