Paramount’s “Mission: Impossible” franchise is an example of a series going in the opposite way to what many do. Whereas most films have long passed their due by date with a sixth entry, the franchise didn’t really seem to get started until its fourth and fifth films which both scored raves.
Anticipation for this Summer’s sixth film, “Mission: Impossible – Fallout,” is high and speaking with CinePOP, actor Simon Pegg revealed that the new installment will be significantly darker than other entries in the series, and he plays a much more active role with his character this time around.
He says despite the return of director Chris McQuarrie, the filmmaker was ‘at pains to make it feel different… the look of it is different; the lighting, production design – it’s gonna feel like another, different movie.”
Pegg adds that the franchise “shows no signs of slowing down… I imagine that at some we’ll be doing mad things again, so, yeah… never say never.” Audiences seeing “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” in IMAX this weekend will be treated to a special sneak peek of the film which will include a scene and a mini-featurette.
“Mission: Impossible – Fallout” opens in theaters on July 27th 2018.
