It has been a busy day on the renewal and cancellation front.
The upcoming and abbreviated sixth season of HBO’s “Silicon Valley” is set to be the show’s last. Clocking in at just seven episodes, the shortest run thus far, the final episodes are currently in pre-production for a summer shoot. Said episodes for the multi-Emmy nominated comedy series are slated to debut later this year.
Starz has renewed its half-hour drama series “Vida” for a third season. The news comes after the show aired the first two episodes of its second season last Sunday on the linear channel. All ten episodes of that second season are currently available on the Starz app and Starz OnDemand.
Finally, DisneyXD has ordered a third season of the Emmy-nominated animated series “Marvel’s Spider-Man” with a Spring 2020 premiere planned. The third season will go by the name “Spider-Man: Maximum Venom” and sees Peter Parker’s alter ego pushed to his breaking point when the always-volatile Venom summons a global threat from its alien home world. New second season episodes will debut in September on Disney XD and DisneyNOW, beginning with a five-part Superior Spider-Man story arc.
