Showtime Scores Amblin, Dreamworks Films

Showtime Networks and Amblin Partners have entered into an exclusive agreement under which qualifying Amblin Entertainment, DreamWorks Pictures and Participant Media films theatrically released over the next five years will air across Showtime, The Movie Channel, Flix, Showtime multiplex channels and streaming services.

The deal will include up to nine films annually produced under the Amblin Partners umbrella, up to six of which will be under the Amblin Entertainment and DreamWorks Pictures labels and up to three of which will be under the Participant Media label.

Upcoming theatrical releases include “The Light Between Oceans” and “The Girl on the Train” both opening this Fall, and “Ghost in the Shell” opening in 2017. It also likely includes the just announced Pete Bridges-penned alien invasion film “The Fall” which Amblin bought the script for over the weekend.
