Showtime has cancelled Andrew Dice Clay’s semi-autobiographical comedy series “Dice”. Season two of the series, which premiered last year, averaged 823,000 viewers per episode across multiple platforms.
The cancellation comes just hours after the network ordered a second season of hit drama series “The Chi” created and executive produced by Lena Waithe (“Master of None”), and executive produced by Common (“Hell on Wheels,” “Selma”).
The coming-of-age story series follows a group of residents who become linked by coincidence but bonded by the need for connection and redemption. The series has averaged four million weekly viewers across platforms.
Ayanna Floyd Davis (“Hannibal,” “Empire”) is taking over as showrunner on the second season which will go back into production in Chicago later this year.
