Shine Pictures has optioned the feature film rights to Steve Knight’s thriller screenplay “Hummingbird” reports Variety.
The story follows an ex-special services soldier turned criminal and marks Knight’s debut as a director. Knight calls it story “about redemption and love in a rarely seen urban underworld”.
New Regency Prods. will finance the film with 20th Century Fox set to distribute. Shooting is expected to start this fall
Knight previously penned films like “Eastern Promises,” “Dirty Pretty Things” and the upcoming “Clash of the Titans” sequel.
