“Sherlock” S4 Finale To Get A Theatrical Run

BBC Worldwide North America and Fathom Events have teamed up to bring the finale of the upcoming fourth season of The BBC and PBS Masterpiece’s “Sherlock” series to the big screen.

The three telemovie episodes kick off on January 1st with “The Six Thatchers” followed by “The Lying Detective” on January 8th and “The Final Problem” on January 15th on PBS. “The Final Problem” will then be screened in around 350 U.S. theaters on the nights of January 16th and 18th at 7pm local time.

This will be the second time an episode of Sherlock has received a theatrical run, following last year’s stand-alone episode “The Abominable Bride”. The new screening will also feature 15 minutes of extras.

Star Benedict Cumberbatch has previously said the finale serves as something of closing chapter for the detective series saying the series ends in “a place where it will be pretty hard to follow on immediately”. Tickets will be sold online at FathomEvents.com.
