Jonathan Aris, who plays forensic scientist Anderson on The BBC’s “Sherlock,” has apparently joined the cast of Gareth Edwards’ “Star Wars” anthology movie “Star Wars: Rogue One” for Disney Pictures.
Aris has reportedly been cast as a character called Senator Jebel, and the news of his casting in the film was revealed via his official online CV. That listing has since been removed, and there has been no official announcement as of yet so count this only as rumor for now.
This does mark one of the first pieces of casting news since it was confirmed Felicity Jones would play the lead while the likes of Riz Ahmed, Sam Claflin, Diego Luna and Ben Mendelsohn are in talks.
Set in the time between Episodes III and IV, the story follows a brave band of resistance fighters uniting to steal the plans to the original Death Star. It hits cinemas next December.
