Judith Viorst’s classic kids picture book “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” will be turned into a high-concept family comedy for 20th Century Fox reports Variety.
Rob Lieber (“Septimus Heap: Magyk”) will pen the adapted screenplay about family members collectively enduring the worst day of their lives. The titular young boy gets so frustrated he threatens to move to Australia.
Fox scored the film rights from the Jim Henson Company and “Night at the Museum” helmer Shawn Levy will produce the project through his 21 Laps production company. Levy could, but likely won’t, direct.
