Director Shawn Levy and writers Kieran Mulroney and Michele Mulroney have decided to up and leave the film adaptation of the mega-selling video game “Minecraft”.
The three were brought on to develop the film with Levy eyeing to direct. Levy and the Mulroney’s presented their idea to the studio last month but it didn’t mesh with what the video game developers were looking for.
Rather than trying again, they’ve decided to part ways with the studio now set to look in another direction. They reportedly hope to land a new director by the start of the new year.
Levy, who is about to begin several weeks of promotional work for “Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb,” isn’t likely to set his next film until the new year.
