As part of ‘Alien Day’ celebrations today, 20th Century Fox has unveiled the third and most crucial in a series of shorts directed by Luke Scott (son of Ridley) that tie directly into the film’s mythology.
The first, ‘The Last Supper,’ was released a few weeks ago and saw the crew aboard the Covenant enjoying their final meal together before cryosleep. The second played more like a commercial as it showed the assembly of the android Walter, played by Michael Fassbender.
This new 2.5-minute short ‘The Crossing’ feels more like actual footage from the film and effectively serves as a bridging prequel between the end of “Prometheus” and the beginning of events in “Alien: Covenant”.
Noomi Rapace’s Elizabeth Shaw is back, reattaching the torn off head of David (Michael Fassbender) to a new body and then going into cryosleep before David arrives at the Engineer home planet. Then things get really crazy, with a quote from “Ozymandias” suggesting what comes next. See the short for yourself below.
Ridley Scott’s “Alien Covenant” opens in cinemas on May 19th.
