Davis Entertainment (“The Blacklist”) and TriStar Television are developing a limited TV series adaptation of Jonathan Allen & Amie Parnes’ novel “Shattered” which traces the missteps that led to Hillary Clinton’s defeat at the hands of Donald Trump in last year’s race for the U.S. Presidency.
Allen and Parnes had access to all facets of the campaign and were not kind to Clinton or her staff – saying she made the race an uphill climb and that the campaign failed to connect with the anger of Bernie Sanders backers after a tough primary season. No network is attached to the project at this point.
The news comes just a few weeks after it was announced the team behind HBO’s “Game Change” including director Jay Roach and producer Tom Hanks, were planning to do a follow-up about the 2016 presidential race. Also, Annapurna and Mark Boal are developing an eight- to ten-episode limited series about the race.
