Though she’s had a few film roles and was the star of TNT’s short-lived “Agent X” series last year, Sharon Stone hasn’t popped up on screens much in recent years.
That may change soon as, while appearing as a guest on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” this week, the actress confirmed that she will have a role in an upcoming Marvel Studios movie:
“I am going to do a Marvel movie. I’m just doing a wee part in a Marvel movie, upcoming, and I can’t tell, because you know, you have to sign confidentiality agreements. But I’m going to do a wee part in a Marvel movie now. That’s it.”
Subsequent speculation suggests the most likely character she could be is Janet Van Dyne in “Ant-Man and The Wasp”. The character, believed to be dead after she went subatomic to diffuse a bomb, is the mother of Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lily) and wife to Hank Pym (Michael Douglas).
If true it would be a fun re-teaming of the former “Basic Instinct” co-stars, but it’s not clear how much of a role it would be in the grand scheme of the movie considering the character is still presently presumed dead.
