Following nearly a decade in development, Shane Black’s “Cold Warrior” project has left Universal Pictures and has found a new home at Netflix reports Collider.
The streaming giant reportedly acquired the project rather quietly late last year, with this news breaking just over a week before Black’s “The Predator” hits cinemas. Chuck Mondry penned the early drafts of the script which follows a retired Cold War-era spy who teams with a younger agent to track down a terrorist.
Black (“The Nice Guys,” “Iron Man 3”) is assumed to have done a pass on the script with plans to direct, but it’s not clear if this will be his next film. For now, the project remains in development with Michelle Manning, Anthony Bagarozzi and Black’s manager David Greenblatt producing.
