When Shane Black was announced as director of “Iron Man 3”, everyone expected he would be writing the script as well considering he made his career on penning action film scripts.
Then in late March came word that Drew Pearce was coming onboard to pen the script with Black overseeing this first draft which has a more grounded and “mystery thriller” tone than the sequel.
Now, Cinema Blend reports that Black will actually co-write the screenplay with Pearce and the majority of Iron Man 3’s storyline has actually been created by Black.
So if that’s the case, why is Pearce involved at all? The site suggests one potential reason that Pearce has been brought in is that “Disney may be worried about Shane’s history of R-rated movies and that Pearce has been brought in to make sure he keeps it family-friendly”.
