Sfar Comes To TV With “Monsters’ Shrink”

Director and graphic artist Joann Sfar (“The Prophet,” “The Rabbi’s Cat”) has set the eight-part series “Monsters’ Shrink” as his first English-language live-action project.

The story follows a New York psychoanalyst who discovers her husband has been found dead at their villa in the South of France.

Determined to discover the truth, she heads to the Antibes and is confronted graveside by Ionas – a Eastern European Vampire who is vicious, intellectual, handy around the house and keen to change.

After convincing her to give him therapy sessions, she realizes he might be connected to her husband’s death and ends up becoming a therapist for an entire underworld hidden in the dirty streets, shops and houses of France.

Canal Plus’ RED Production Company will produce with filming to begin in early 2018. Jemma Rodgers and Nicola Shindler will executive produce.
