Seymour Hoffman, Wright Join “Moneyball”

Philip Seymour Hoffman and Robin Wright are in early talks to join “Moneyball” for Sony Pictures says Variety.

Based on Michael Lewis’ nonfiction bestseller, the story follows Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) who assembled a contending baseball club on a shoestring budget by employing a sophisticated computer-based analysis to draft players. Wright would portray Beane’s ex-wife.

Steve Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin wrote the script based on an earlier draft by Stan Chervin while Bennett Miller (“Capote”) is set to direct. Shooting kicks off this July in Los Angeles.
