She was said to be the favourite, and now “Blue is the Warmest Color” star Lea Seydoux (“Spectre,” “Blue is the Warmest Color”) has reportedly been offered the female lead role in the “X-Men” spin-off feature “Gambit” for 20th Century Fox.
Seydoux would play Bella Donna Boudreaux, the daughter of the leader of the New Orleans Assassins’ Guild and the first love of Gambit himself Remy LeBeau (Channing Tatum) who was a member of the Thieves’ Guild. He wound up marrying Bella as part of an arranged ceremony to unite the guilds but when things went bad he fled New Orleans.
Rupert Wyatt (“Rise of the Planet of the Apes”) helms from a script by Josh Zemuter which is based on a treatment by Chris Claremont. Tatum, Reid Carolin, Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg are producing.
“Gambit” is currently slated to go before cameras in October ahead of an October 2016 release.
