“Sexy Beast” Prequel Ordered To Series

A Sexy Beast Prequel Series In The Works

Following news it was in the works a year ago, Paramount Network has now handed out a ten-episode series order for a TV prequel to “Under the Skin” director Jonathan Glazer’s cult 2000 crime film “Sexy Beast” which will be produced by Anonymous Content and Paramount Television.

The film starred Ben Kingsley as Don Logan, an ageing gangster who forces his former associate Gal Dove (Ray Winstone) to come out of retirement to pull off a heist for powerful crime boss Teddy Bass (Ian McShane).

The prequel will be set in the London criminal world during the volatile 1990s when brilliant thief Gal and vicious gangster Don were partners who worked for criminal mastermind Teddy. Gal’s future wife and adult film star DeeDee will also play a major part in the action.

“The Sopranos” and “Rescue Me” veteran Michael Caleco will pen and executive produce alongside the original film’s screenwriters Louis Mellis and David Scinto and both Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay.
