Much of the team behind Netflix’s rom-com smash hit “Set It Up” are re-teaming for a new romantic comedy for the streamer titled “Most Dangerous Game” which is most definitely not a sequel.
Stars Zoey Deutch and Glen Powell will lead the film which once again hails from scribe Katie Silberman who also produces with Juliet Berman and Justin Nappi. Filming will begin in early 2020.
Nappi says in a statement: “While it was clear that audiences were clamoring for a sequel, we are excited by the thought of creating a new, distinct film that explores different romantic comedy tropes while still being anchored in everything that we loved about the first movie.”
“Set It Up” was one of three rom-coms to break out last year for the streamer, the others being the younger-skewing “The Kissing Booth” and “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”. Both of those are getting direct sequels though.
