“Sesame Street” Film Scores New Scribes

David Guion and Michael Handelman (“Dinner for Schmucks,” “Night at The Museum: Secret of the Tomb”) have been set up to script a feature film based on the nearly half century old famed kids series “Sesame Street” at Warner Bros. Pictures.

Created in 1969 by Childrens Television Workshop and Jim Henson, the landmark public television series is set primarily in a downtown street in an unnamed city populated by humans, talking animals and other characters.

The pair will start with a treatment as the studio tries to get a working story for a narrative family film going from the property. Shawn Levy, Michael Aguilar and Guymon Casady will produce.
