Serkis In Talks To Play Alfred In The Batman

Andy Serkis is reportedly in talks to play Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth in Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” reports The Wrap.

Serkis would join the cast which includes Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman and Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/The Riddler. Serkis also steps into a role played by many famed veteran actors including Michael Gough, Michael Caine, Jeremy Irons and the voices of Efrem Zimbalist Jr. and Ralph Fiennes.

Serkis is busy prepping to direct the “Venom” sequel for Sony Pictures, as such it’s not clear how this film will fit into his schedule. Pattinson has made headlines recently already prepping to do his scenes with some Brazilian jiu-jitsu training.

Reeves helms “The Batman” which he calls a very personal story about the Dark Knight and is said to be more of a detective noir film in tone than usual for the franchise. “The Batman” will be released on June 25th 2021.
