French comic book author Joann Sfar is set to shoot a biopic of French poet, singer, actor and director Serge Gainsbourg says FilmDeCulte.com.
Gainsbourg’s music has reached legendary stature in France and is considered to be one of the first music pop artists of the late 1960s. His work often included a lot of raunchy sexual subtext which caused quite a few controversies which led to even bigger sales. Stage actor Eric Elsmonino is apparently lined up to play Gainsbourg.
Sara Forestier will play screen siren Brigitte Bardot in her younger days who had a relationship with Gainsbourg. He later went on to marry actress Jane Birkin who starred in two famous Agatha Christie adaptations “Death on the Nile” and “Evil Under the Sun”.
