It’s an absolute critical darling and it scored one of the best per-screen averages for a horror film in a decade, so it comes s no surprise that Radius-TWC is hoping to keep the buzz surrounding their hit “It Follows” going.
So comes word that sequel plans are under consideration. Radius-TWC’s co-president Tom Quinn tells EW: “I don’t want to give away too much, but we’ve thought about it. Flip the title. There’s so much you could do.”
The film’s writer/director David Robert Mitchell also recently spoke with Vulture about some ideas he had for the first film he couldn’t use that might work in a sequel:
“I don’t know that a sequel would be the next thing that I would do, but I’m certainly open to it. I just kinda want to see how things play out. But I do want to say that when I wrote this, I had some bigger setpieces, a few things that I sort of simplified, and some stuff that we chose to cut out because of the budget and time, so there’s all kinds of fun things that could be done with this concept and story.”
“It Follows” has earned $11.3 million domestically so far from a $2 million budget.
