Sofia Vergara’s ex Nick Loeb is reportedly co-directing “Roe v. Wade,” a pro-life story about the landmark Supreme Court case in 1973 which legalised abortion in the United States.
Conservative stars Jon Voight, Robert Davi and Stacey Dash are a part of the project which began filming mid-June in and around New Orleans and is slated to wrap in just under two weeks and is aiming for a PG rating.
Voight, Davi, Corbin Bernsen, John Schneider, Steve Guttenberg, William Forsythe, Wade Williams and Richard Portnow are all reportedly set to play Supreme Court justices in the film. “Clueless” star and Fox News commentator Dash will play Mildred Jefferson, the first black woman to graduate from Harvard Medical School and the former president of National Right to Life. Greer Grammer, Justine Wachsberger and Betty Friedan also star.
Casting has reportedly been a problem throughout, as actors have walked away once they realized the film took the controversial conservative pro-life stance. The film also deals with how Dallas District Attorney Henry Wade prosecuted Jack Ruby for killing Lee Harvey Oswald.
The movie is executive produced by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s niece Alveda King who also has a cameo. Loeb and Cathy Allyn are co-directing the project which was also shot in Washington D.C.
The project comes as the case has been in the news again lately as Justice Anthony Kennedy retires from the Supreme Court.
