The second trailer and a new poster for Taika Waititi’s “Thor: Ragnarok” are now online following their premiere at Marvel’s San Diego Comic Con panel on Saturday.
The story has Hela (Cate Blanchett) escaping millennia of imprisonment. She exiles Thor (Chris Hemsworth), smashes Mjolnir and scorches Asgard. Thor, stuck on a distant gladiatorial planet, must return home or it will be destroyed.
Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), Hela (Cate Blanchett), Skurge (Karl Urban) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) all get screen time. Hela sports a rough British accent and her horns are on full display. There are also shots of Chris Hemsworth shirtless, Loki (Tom Hiddleston), and plenty of “Flash Gordon” style.
The panel for the film revealed that The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) is not just immortal, but also the brother of The Collector (Benicio del Toro).
Meanwhile, Mark Ruffalo says that Banner has been in Hulk form for two years. In fact, Hulk does not want to turn back into Bruce Banner. A side effect is that he has now scored the vocabulary of someone of that age. Some of his speech is seen in the trailer’s final moments, along with a glimpse of Surtur.
“Thor: Ragnarok” opens in cinemas on November 3rd 2017.
