Sean Penn Keen On Iñarritu’s “Flim-Flam”

Sean Penn is reportedly keen on starring Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu’s adaptation of Jennifer Vogel’s memoir “Flim-Flam Man” which will likely be titled “Red Flag” reports Vulture.

Penn would play a real-life bank robber, arsonist, fraudster, addict, and counterfeiter of more than $20 million. Jez Butterworth (“Fair Game”) penned the script and New Regency is in negotiations to finance the project.

Both Penn and Leonardo DiCaprio were lined up to do Iñarritu’s proposed historical project “The Revenant” at New Regency later this year. That project has now been pushed back with Penn and Iñarritu opting to do ‘Flim-Flam’ next while DiCaprio has committed to Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street”.
