Carter Blanchard (“Glimmer”) has come on to pen the script for the film adaptation of the videogame series “Spy Hunter” at Warner Bros. Pictures.

Ruben Fleischer remains attached to direct the film which follows ex-fighter pilot who rids the world of spies, assassins, and other bad guys with his souped-up Interceptor car. [Source: Variety]

Gavin Scott (“Small Soldiers”) has sold his spec script “Dunkirk” to Working Title UK. Oliver Parker (“Dorian Gray,” “Johnny English Reborn”) is attached to direct.

The story deals with the famed WWII battle in which British civilians used small boats to cross the English Channel and rescue 200,000 British troops and 140,000 French troops from the advancing Germans. [Source: Deadline]

Paramount’s low-budget genre label Insurge has picked up Adam Mason and Simon Boyes’ sci-fi spec script “Equinox”. Stefan Sonnenfeld is producing.

The story is being described as “‘Dead Calm’ in space”, though the action will likely take place on space ships rather than modern boats. [Source: THR]
