“The Prince of Tides” and “Seven Years in Tibet” scribe Becky Johnston has been hired to pen re-writes on a sequel to “Salt” at Sony Pictures.

Angelina Jolie is expected to reprise her role of CIA officer Evelyn Salt. Jolie is the one who requested rewrites to the earlier draft by Kurt Wimmer and it has apparently taken almost a year to find someone all involved could sign off on. [Source: Heat Vision]

Burr Steers has been hired to pen and direct an adaptation of Chase Novak’s horror thriller novel “Breed” at Heyday Films and Summit Entertainment. David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford will produce.

The story follows a couple who undergo an experimental fertility treatment, one that ends up transforming them into bloodthirsty savages. They then set out on a desperate quest to find a cure. [Source: Deadline]

Lindsay Devlin has been hired to adapt Amy Tintera’s young adult novel “Reboot” for Fox 2000 and Chernin Entertainment.

The story is set after the world becomes infected with a deadly virus and killer slave soldiers are created from dead teenagers. Two re-animated teens decide to band together to fight the organization responsible. [Source: Heat Vision]
