Script News: Brown, Reminiscence, Kosinski, 6

A couple of new script deals today.

Matthew Johnson (“The Dirties”) is in talks to pen a family film adaptation of Daniel J. Sobol’s kiddie book series “Encylopedia Brown” for Warner Bros. Pictures.

Legendary Pictures has bought Lisa Joy’s sci-fi spec script “Reminiscence”, but no plot details are given or producers are attached. Joy is co-writing the upcoming “Westworld” remake with Jonathan Nolan for HBO.

Media Rights Capital has picked up Chris Cantwell & Chris Rogers’ untitled grounded action thriller spec script as a directing vehicle for “Tron Legacy” and “Oblivion” helmer Joseph Kosinski. Dylan Clark will produce.

Finally, Aaron Berg has sold his spec script “Section 6” to Universal Pictures for $1.2 million. The film focuses on the formation of the British intelligence agency MI6 and Brit spymaster Sir Mansfield Cummings – the man who inspired the ‘M’ character in the James Bond films.
