Script News: Apes, Blackout, Circus, Join

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Mark Bomback (“Live Free or Die Hard,” “Unstoppable”) has come onboard to rework Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa’s script for Fox’s “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”. He’s expected to deliver a draft more tailored to the new director’s sensibilities.

Matt Reeves replaces Rupert Wyatt at the helm of the ‘Rise’ sequel which is scheduled for a May 23rd 2014 release. The pattern follows the scripting on ‘Rise’ where Silver & Jaffa penned the initial script and Bomback did some uncredited script doctoring. [Source: Heat Vision]

The story follows a cop tasked with transporting a mysterious and dangerous criminal across town. The job becomes ten times more difficult when a city-wide blackout plunges them into darkness and chaos. [Source: Deadline]
