Fox is NOT having a good start to the new season. Following in the wake of a poor turnout for its “Minority Report” follow-up, the network’s even more high-profile “Scream Queens” debuted to a surprisingly soft start.
Tracking figures ahead of the premiere were strong, but the final numbers were rather paltry with only a 1.7 rating and 4 million viewers tuning in for the two-hour premiere. Figures however showed no drop-off during the broadcast – meaning those who watched stuck around.
Also not going so well was CBS’ “Limitless” which nabbed only a 1.8 rating despite a quite healthy 9.8 million viewers tuning in. Faring far better was ABC’s “The Muppets” which scored a much more impressive 2.8 rating and 8.9 million viewers.
Of course these are just overnight figures, not including DVR or VOD use which you’ll find more accurate figure accounts of in a few days. Delayed viewing cannot be counted out these days, FX’s “The Bastard Executioner” for example debuted soft the other week, but shot up a whopping 71% in Live+3 figures.
