Filmmaker Ridley Scott is still doing refreshingly frank and candid interviews for “All The Money In The World,” with his comments about “Blade Runner 2049” being too long and slow garnering the most traction in the past few weeks.
With the Disney-Fox deal effectively scuttling Scott’s plans for further “Alien” films in the near future, Scott has indicated to Digital Spy that he’s turning his attention back to the world of “Blade Runner” and even has a new story idea set in that world that he wishes to tackle:
“I hope so, I think there is another story. I’ve got another one ready to evolve and be developed, so there is certainly one to be done for sure.”
The box office disappointment of ‘2049’ however will make the film a tough sell at Warner Bros. Pictures who probably have little desire to continue the franchise. Scott also has a busy slate ahead of him with the film adaptation of Don Winslow’s “The Cartel” and an adaptation of “The Merlin Saga” announced last week.
