In a surprising reveal, actor Jamie Foxx has indicated that filmmaker Martin Scorsese will direct the upcoming Mike Tyson biopic in which Foxx is slated to star.
Appearing on Power 105’s radio program The Breakfast Club, the “Ray” and “Django Unchained” star said:
“I just went in with Paramount with Mike Tyson. So I’m going to do the Mike Tyson story. Listen, to be in the same room pitching Mike Tyson to Paramount, Mike Tyson is on one side, I’m on the other side and doing Mike Tyson at the same time. And Martin Scorsese at the helm. This will be the first boxing movie that Martin Scorsese has done since ‘Raging Bull.'”
“Boardwalk Empire” creator and “The Wolf of Wall Street” scribe Terence Winter is penning the film which Foxx has been linked to since last summer.
Scorsese is currently in the midst of directing his long-gestating drama “Silence” starring Liam Neeson and Andrew Garfield. That film is due out next year.
