Aaron Schneider (“Get Low”) is set to direct the true story drama “The Conscientious Objector” for Walden Media, Pandemonium and Permut Presentations says Deadline.
The story follows Desmond Doss, the first conscientious objector in American history to win the Congressional Medal of Honor. Doss was an army medic in WWII who refused to kill or even carry a gun and ended up saving the lives of seventy-five men at the Battle of Okinawa.
Robert Schenkkan (“The Pacific,” “The Quiet American”) penned the script. Bill Mechanic, David Permut and Terry Benedict will produce.
