Brian De Palma’s legendary 1983 “Scarface” is hitting Blu-ray on September 6th, but a week earlier the modern classic will get a limited theatrical re-release for one night only in more than 475 select movie theaters across the country.
The Oliver Stone-penned, Al Pacino-led remake of Howard Hawks’ original 1932 film follows Cuban immigrant Tony Montana who fights his way to become the undisputed drug kingpin of Miami. The extremely violent film essentially redefined gangster movies and resulted in numerous famed catchphrases and countless imitations and homages.
The screening, using “restored high-definition picture and enhanced audio”, will take place on Wednesday, August 31st at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com where you can also find which theater locations will participate.
