Saw, “Eagle,” Jack Ryan Title Changes

Having gone from a cult hit to a decreasingly interesting franchise to a walking joke, Lionsgate has decided to ditch the standard numerology for the next chapter in its “Saw” film series reports Reel Movie News.

So instead of “Saw VII”, the film has been renamed “Saw 3D: The Traps Come Alive”. The $17 million project will hit cinemas on October 22nd.

Meanwhile, Focus Features have shortened the title of Kevin Macdonald’s upcoming Roman soldier action/drama “The Eagle of the Ninth” to simply “The Eagle”. The film was recently granted a PG-13 rating by the MPAA for “battle sequences and some disturbing images”.

Finally, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura has confirmed to Collider that the next Jack Ryan film will be titled “Moscow” and he hopes to get it into production in the first half of 2011.
