Netflix has premiered the first trailer for “Neo Yokio,” the upcoming six-episode anime series from creator, writer and executive producer Ezra Koenig (“Vampire Weekend”).
They’ve also set a September 22nd premiere date for the series which stars the voices of Jaden Smith, Susan Sarandon, Steve Buscemi, Tavi Gevinson, Jason Schwartzman and Jude Law.
Smith plays Kaz Kaan, the youngest member of a family of pink-haired demon slayers called ‘magistocrats’ who once liberated the city of Neo Yokia.
Today, his demon-slaying is barely more than a side-hustle coordinated by his Aunt Agatha (Sarandon). Helped by his faithful mecha-butler (Law) and two friends, he tries to stay one step ahead of his arch-rival Arcangelo Corelli Schwartzman).
Drawn into the turbulent world of ex-fashion blogger Helena St. Tessero (Gevinson), he sets in motion a sequence of events that force him to question everything he knows about Neo Yokio.
